Aluminium Chromate

The normal salt of Aluminium Chromate is not known. Aluminium hydroxide is soluble in chromic acid solutions, but the nature of the mixture varies with the temperature and the concentration of the chromic acid solution. A yellow flocculent precipitate of a basic aluminium chromate, Al₂O₃.CrO₃.7H₂O, is produced by adding potassium chromate to a solution of alum.
