Lead Chromicyanide, Pb3[Cr(CN)6]2.30H2O, is precipitated on the addition of alcohol to a solution of the basic salt in a limited quantity of dilute sulphuric acid. No precipitate is formed when potassium chromicyanide is added to a solution of lead nitrate, but the basic acetate of lead yields a white precipitate.
The basic compound, Pb3[Cr(CN)6]2.5PbO, is obtained as a yellowish-white amorphous precipitate on adding ammoniacal lead acetate solution to a dilute solution of potassium chromicyanide in absence of carbon dioxide. |
